Dancing Queen!

Well we had the big recital... after a year of prep!! The girls were super cute! They did tap to Broadway Baby, and ballet was to Under the Sea... Enjoy the pictures!

Izzy is getting bigger... she is now up to 3.5 lbs. So super cute! Love her one ear down and one up - but in the last week, the other one is almost up! Now if we could get past this puppy biting stuff!!! :)

Things have been busy with lots of different things going on...

I went on a field trip with Camryn to the Missouri Botanical Gardens.... it was a perfect day for a field trip!

Camryn got to ride a bike and conduct electricity - see if it was easier to light up the new light bulbs or the old ones...

I went to Build A Bear for a Brownie field trip... this was their reward for selling so many Girl Scout cookies..

Camryn had her 1st grade award ceremony at school... she got 5 different awards! I was super proud of her!

We got our new puppy yesterday... Isabella... aka Izzy, Izzy B and Stupido! Seriously she is the cutest thing ever... we have all fallen in love with her. Even Dean said that if she kept being so good he might have to give her a new name - since he is the only one who calls her Stupido! The kids were so excited... they couldn't believe I didn't tell them I was getting her... but there faces were priceless. I did have the video camera on and was taping when they got here... or thought I was... and later went back to watch and was so bummed to find out I must have forgot to hit record in all the excitement!! She is super tiny and weighs 12 ounces. Our first night was great - she slept in her crate until 4:15am and when I took her out she went potty immediately! We played for about a half an hour... and then she went back to sleep! Even Dean came down to play with her!! Right now our precious little girl is all curled up watching golf with daddy.... enjoy the pictures!!

I got a call from the breeder this week.... and Izzy is ready to come home!! I am picking her up today at 2... the kids have no idea we are getting her today... they still think they have to wait until next weekend!! I can't wait to surprise them with her after school! Adult Scavenger Hunt...

We went last night to a fundraiser for the kids elementary school!! It was so much fun! We had a team of 8 people, and you had to take pictures of certain things... and in ALL pictures you had to have your stuffed animal. Our animal was the Koala Bear. We had 2 hours to complete the pictures and it was being judged on creativity! We had a blast!! Thought I would share our 10 pictures!! Enjoy! It was a jungle theme - so we tried to use that in some of our pictures as well...

This was another first place winner, a man in woman's clothes!! Took about 10 shots of this because I could never get it very clear I was laughing so hard!!! Doug you are HOT!

This has been quite a week - and its not even over!!

Recap...

Monday... Colby had a baseball game.... we lost but it was a really good game

Tuesday... Camryn had dance... and Colby had another baseball game.... it was a GREAT game and they won -- Colby pitched 3 innings, had 5 out of 9 strike outs and had a pop fly catch for an out too!! In the last inning Colby had a pop fly and made a double play with Mike O. at 2nd base!! I still haven't taken any new baseball pics... but I will get on that soon! (because remember this is a busy week and its not over yet!)

Wednesday... Colby had Goalie Training and Camryn hung out with her buddy Elsen

Thursday... Colby had yet another soccer game... the boys won 2 to 1, which was great because this team was ranked #1

Friday... Colby song the National Anthem at Busch Stadium with Geggie Elementary's Special Chorus... It was a great game against the Cubs... and CARDINALS WON!!!! Camryn left the game with her friend Kennedy and spent the night there.

Camryn, Kennedy and Zoe... after the game was over, the firework's were shot, the crowd cheering.... Camryn and Kennedy asked me if the Cards won!??! Seriously!! lol

Saturday... Colby had another soccer game this morning - it was a great game even though they lost 4 to 3 - And I did get some good pics at this game! Also got to have lunch with Colby - love to get that one on one time with him... doesn't happen often!

Where's Dean you ask?? Well - did I mention it is 90 and BEAUTIFUL -- so I'll give a big Whoo Hoo to whoever can guess where he is first!!! lol!

Tonight Colby has an indoor game and is staying at the Whalen's house.... Camryn is also staying at her friend Kileigh's house, and she has her last indoor game in the morning! Dean and I are going on an adult scavenger hunt with the Peters, Kunkels and Holtzs, should be fun!! And we will finish off the week with another baseball game on Sunday night - told you it was a busy week!!!

This little thing will be ours in the next two and half weeks....

She's a 5 and 1/2 week old black Chihuahua -- we are pretty sure we are going to name her Izzy - short for Isabella... its her Spanish name. I was really trying for Margarita and calling her Rita... but I just couldn't convince the rest of the crew! Dean is thinking about calling her stupid! Yes he is still a little apprehensive... ok maybe a lot... but he has caved for us.... and the kids are Over the Moon with excitement!! How could he not just fall in love with her!!?! More pics will be posted as we get them!! This one was taken by the breeder with a camera phone... so not the best picture.... but they have strict rules about not letting people see their puppies until they have all their puppy shots.... guess its better to be safe than sorry!

Yesterday the big bunny came by and left a few baskets for the kids..... and we had our egg hunt in the front yard. this was the first year Camryn could really hold her own on getting the eggs before her big brother!! She actually had to give him 2 of hers to make it even....

After the egg hunt... Colby changed clothes and went to the Cardinals game with his friends Dustin and Michael. We headed to Great Ganny's and had a big brunch and did a little more egg hunting! I headed back home to wait for Colby, while Dean went to play a little golf and Camryn spent the afternoon with Grandma. We all met up at Grandpa Odie's house for dinner!

Soccer Tournament this weekend...

We spent the weekend in Springfield, MO for a soccer tournament for Colby!! We had a great time... this is where Dean and I both went to college - so we had fun driving around campus showing the kids and talking about the good old days!! I don't think the kids liked it as much as we did. The boys played in 3 games, won 3 lost 1... so not too bad. All 3 teams we played were from St. Louis - nothing like driving 3 hours to play them!! My niece was there too - so I even got to see her play as well.... Here are a few pictures of Colby from the games.....

The best part of the tournament was that at our first game we had a celebrity.... right there playing soccer against our boys.... it was so amazing....the goalie for the other team was L.B. Little Barack!!! Check him out!!

Its been a while since I have had a post.... just been busy with, well everything. I have been a substitute teacher a few times.... both in 1st grade classrooms.... but it has been fun! I taught for 7 years before I had the kids - and now that they are both in school I would like to go back - so hoping next year I can find a job! The kids are both done with soccer - which helps make the weekends a little less busy... but Colby has moved on to basketball... and we practice that 2 times a week... no games yet - but they will be on the weekends. I had a garage sale with my sister last weekend.... made a little extra money for the holidays, went to watch my niece play soccer this weekend too... but we have spent most of our time getting things together at the house.... We are having our first guests this weekend.... My friend from TX Paige and her kids are coming to visit... I am so looking forward to it.... they will be here on Friday - so we are trying to get a little more settled before they get here... Here is hoping we get everything done and have a great time with our guests this weekend!!!

Halloween and Fall

It has been a busy weekend..... Friday we did some trick or treating here in our new neighborhood... not too many houses to go to - but we had fun seeing all the new neighbor kids in their costumes. After this... we went to the Kunkel's for the annual Halloween party.... lots of fun!

Saturday we had soccer for Colby (he had a super game!) and then we had our neighborhood 1st annual Halloween party!

We spent Sunday recovering from a busy weekend.... Dean headed to the golf course early in the morning morning.... and I took the kids out for our annual fall photo opportunity! The trees are at their peek, and I just love pictures of the leaves!!! It is a little later than usual.... and I am a little bummed as my friend from Texas, Paige and her kids were going to come in town this weekend... and although it would have been crazy while we are still getting settled... I know how she would have loved the trees... especially being from Houston... where the trees don't quite turn all these amazing colors! She is still coming this month - but not until later and the leaves will be gone by then....

Hope everyone had a super Halloween and enjoyed that extra hour of sleep... I sure did!

We are slowly but surely getting settled and I know I need to post a few pics for you.... and I can't wait to do that... BUT I don't want to put any pics on until there are a few less boxes.... tomorrow - I will get one of the kitchen and LR up....

It has been a busy few weeks....

Camryn had to have a freckle removed from her face last week... it appeared this summer - out of the blue and it has doubled in size already and was very dark.... so I took her in to have it looked at and he wanted to take it off.... testing came back and it was fine.... and now it is off her face... there was a need for a coupe of stitches... so we went today and had those removed.....

We had a wedding, Melissa and Sam, in the midst of the move too... Melissa is one of Dean's cousins... and she was a candle lighter in our wedding 13 years ago....

We have had our second book club meeting - we read The Shack by David Gregory - very interesting... it was a little hard to get through in the middle - but it was a great book and we also went to Robust in Webster Groves for dinner.... so much fun!! I am in charge of book club this month and we are reading - The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks.... so far so good... you should read it with us!

We did a little pumpkin carving this week too..... Colby painted his pumpkin black with a green inside... it turned out really cool... (if you look at these pics closely you can see some of our house on the inside... click on them and make them bigger)

Welcome Home Voss Family....

Ok - so its not really Extreme Makeover Home Edition...but it is our home!! Things have been a little busy needless to say..... Lots has been going on... paint, lights, blinds, unpacking, Lowes trips, drywalling (the garage), furniture deliveries... and much much more!! But I am so loving the new house already!! I don't have an inside pics just yet.... they will be coming soon - we should be completely in by this weekend.... and I can't wait!! But here is a picture of the finished front.... Yep - we closed on the house today.... so we are official owners of our new home!! We are really excited!!! It has been a super busy day... I am finally back at the Villa - Dean is still at the house painting... Randy is still hanging lights.... and Eric finished almost all the blinds!! We have a wedding to go to tomorrow and a soccer game - and the rest of the time we will spend at the house.... getting things together.... I WILL get pics up soon - its just been a little crazy!! Believe me - I can't wait to show you guys too - I just love it!! Anyway - I am off to bed...

I haven't been updating -- sorry about that - no good reason... but you may notice my ticker and that we are way close to the big day!! We had our walk through today - all went well - we also have landscaping and grass -- IT LOOKS LIKE OUR HOUSE!! I will get some pics - it is a little yucky here today - and might rain for a few days (good for my new grass!) But we close on Friday... I can't wait - and then my painter - that would be Dean - will be painting his weekend.... Oh so stinking excited!! I have some new pics - will get those on soon too...

Well... its that time of the week again....

I didn't turn 35 yesterday... nope not me - how could I possibly be 35 - I mean aren't I still in my 20's...

I did not go crazy.... and eat out several times in celebration of not turning 35.... with breakfast on Wednesday with my friend Janell at Rise N' Dine... Lunch Friday with my sister at PF Changs and of course Movie Friday - to Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist... Dinner Saturday with several girlfriends, Kerry, Monica, Kimberly and Kelli, at El Maguey.... Lunch Sunday with my kids at Bread Co. and birthday dinner with Dean from Taco Bell (my pick)... Nope that would be a lot of eating out in just a few short days!! (YES I am headed to the gym this morning!)

I did not have 8 diet coke cans on my night stand again..... seriously - what is wrong with me!!!

I did not go to the Eureka Rodeo Friday night.... it is something I have always passed on so there is no way I was going to go this year! Especially since it was not my birthday weekend!!!

And for my final not me.... when we were eating dinner Saturday night... we did not have a tree frog jump onto our table and knock Kelli's straw from her drink, land in Monica's water and then jump to Kerry's water... nope that would have had us all jumping and screaming and we didn't do that..... and when the manager brought some plastic frogs to our table as a joke... I didn't set it on the little girl's shoulder behind us... and scare her so bad that she spit her food out..... nope not me....

Prayer Warriors....update (again! and again!)

Sam was less swollen today and they pulled the ventilator tonight and he is breathing on his own, although he is not quite awake yet. They have not tested for any reflexes yet but probably will tomorrow. Thank you all for your continuing prayers- we were told today that this journey will be a long one- at least a few weeks to a few months.

More news on Sam came in - THANKS for praying!! It is so working!!

Great news this morning! Sam is off the vent, breathing on his own, woke up, recognized his parents and Aunt Mary and said his throat hurts! J We are hopeful that he continues to recover! I know it is all your prayers- THANK YOU!

Thank you everyone for your prayers. They are working, keep it up!!

More news from Sam's family...

Sam is healing better than even the physician's expectations! He is communicative and speaking well. They just pulled his catheter and when they did he yelled out "Son of a B*&@*!". The doctor looked at Russ and said, "Well, I guess he won't need any speech therapy!!"

He is going to get moved out of the PICU tomorrow into a 1/2 way room. They are moving him into a chair as soon as he wakes up to begin assessing him. He is down to one IV and he is passing gas!

So its another not me Monday - with MckMama...

I so didn't go to a Trivia Night Saturday night -- for my kids school fundraiser - with their principals, teachers, and lots of other parents.... have a team name of The Einsteins and come in last place!!!! I couldn't be that dumb... and if I was I would never admit it!! We also didn't get a perfect 10 in only 2 rounds.... name that candy... where you sample 10 kinds of candy and decided what they are... and the other called name that drink... where we had to sample 10 mixed drinks and determine what it was... NOPE those are not the only 2 categories we got 10 on - because that would be just plain embarrassing!!

I didn't sit at my nephews game today and listen to the people talk around me.. not letting them know who I was - as they talked about what a good soccer player that Jacob was... and when they asked - I didn't smile and say I was there to watch my nephew Jacob play!! I wouldn't do that - because that would have been bragging!!

I didn't sit at Colby's soccer game today and decided to go to the shade where all the parents from the other team were... and proceed to cheer LOUDLY when one of our players scored in the first 3 minutes of the game.... because that would be rude and I wouldn't want to be one of those parents.... and I didn't apologize because it just flew out of my mouth - and I felt bad for it!

I didn't almost pee in my pants when our friend Randy ordered white castle burgers with a "little extra love on them!" at the drive through and then proceed to tell them "this order is to go!"

I think that is all that I didn't do - but if I think of anything else - I will be sure to add them on!! Can't wait to see what you didn't do too!!

Just wanted to update you on the story I previously shared with you.....

The latest news from the young boys aunt.....

We went and visited with Sam today. He is still in the PICU in critical condition. He had a rough night last night with his cranial pressure spiking a couple times. However, they took the cranial pressure monitor off today. He is extremely swollen and the right side of his face is pretty bruised up. They also started slowly reducing his meds this afternoon and he is starting to stir a little bit. They expect him to be awake tomorrow morning and perhaps pull the ventilator and begin testing him for reflexes and responses. Please continue to pray for him as he needs as much help as he can get pulling out of this.

Movie Friday...

My sister and I have a little tradition going called Movie Friday... this is the first year we have lived by each other (well since we were kids anyway). So now that she has moved back to St. Louis and all of the kids are in school - we go to the movies on Friday!! Its been lots of fun! This week we saw Nights In Rodanthe based on the book by Nicholas Sparks. It was AMAZING!!! A must see for all woman out there, just bring a BOX of Kleenex!!! For those of you that follow Nate's blog.... you can see what he wrote about the setting of the movie here... the fact that the beach house really exists... oh my - I so want to go there.... do you think it will be affordable?! If you get a chance to see it - post a comment and let me know what you think of the movie!

FYI - Nicholas Sparks new book hits the shelves Tuesday September 30th... The Lucky One I can't wait to read that one!!

I personally do not know this family... but they are friends of friends... and this story is about their nephew... he collapsed at football practice this week.... it appears at this time that it was a blood clot - and he is currently on life support.... please pray for this young man and his family.... Last night was our first official book club meeting - we still need to come up with a name girls! Had a great time and the food was FABULOUS! Dinner at The Melting Pot - how can you go wrong?! If you are there - try the snickers chocolate.... yummy!! The lobster was also one of my favorites.... and of course I loved all the cheeses too! Our first book The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes..... super good book - highly liked by all! Looking forward to our next book - no pressure Jenni on getting that picked out -- and our next night out... at McDonald's!! :) Maybe next time Monica will be fighting me for the front seat!! The house is looking good... they made lots of progress today... painted the door, painted the garage doors, stained the bookcases and the stairs, painted the doors, painted the trim, finished up the ugly wood floor.... I think that might be all! Here are a couple new pics.....

Now the stain isn't up the middle of the stairs because there will be a carpet runner up the middle...just in case you weren't sure what was up with that!! The stain also still needs to be polyurethaned too.

I will say that it gets harder everyday -- waiting - the more they do the more I just want to be in our home... with all our things.... settled..... again. Not much longer right?! But maybe a few prayers for patience would be good...

Friday night Colby was invited to go to Cardinals Camp Out with his friend Dustin - where you pitch a tent a Busch Stadium and sleep there for the night!! He had a blast... do you think he even realizes how lucky he is to do stuff like this!?!? They watched the game on the jumbo trons, got to check their pitching speed, ate lots of food, went in the dugouts, and locker room and had their pictures taken with the World Series Trophies!!! They also got really cool t-shirts to remember the big night with .... here are some of the pictures from the big event!!

What an UGLY floor! ha!!

So here are some pics from the house today..... so excited..... I was trying to make a ticker count down for the move in date..... but it didn't look right when I posted it... any help from blogger world on that one??

On to the pictures...
All white trim and garage doors (with the exception of around the windows) will be painted the same color as our siding Tuscan Clay.... and the front door will be black, other than that the front is pretty much done!

I am in the kitchen looking into the living room - I LOVE the bookcases.... they will be stained still... and so will the mantle.... and of course you can see the shelves standing in the cases... but I was super excited with how they look!

This picture is me standing in the hall between the kitchen and the laundry room - with the view of the kitchen -- also loving how this turned out - although I am hoping to keep my counter tops a little cleaner than this! Looking forward to the appliances going in soon - they are in the garage now!

The picture you have been waiting for -- The UGLY floor!!! I tried to wipe off as much dust as I could - but you can still see it... there is a slight wave to the floor too - which is a little hard to see in this picture.... but all I have to say is I LOVE it!!

And in honor of the old man at the house....Camryn learned about the "old days" in school today.... to which she told me about how weird washing clothes was, and they had funny irons, and also that when kids got in trouble they had to sit in a corner with funny hats on while kids made fun of them -- and the last thing from the old days that she shared with me - was windows in cars that you had to crank open.... oh my!!! How OLD is that.... because I am pretty sure that I had those in my first car.... I am not THAT old..... and her young teacher STILL has them in her car... boy was Camryn disgusted!

Now this is fun..... over at another site I frequent.... that MckMama writes - she has started a new post - called Not Me Monday!! In support of her and how much fun I think this is.... I decided to play along...

So.... I did not get my husband to go to DQ and get me a chocolate cookie dough concrete so that I could Wait until my kids were in bed, get in my own bed and eat it while watching HGTV... while thinking about how I will so start watching what I eat again on Monday..... nope not me, because that is what I would do every week.... start over on Monday!

I so didn't have 6 half empty diet coke cans on my night stand.... from I don't know how many days - just sitting there... that would mean I spend too much time laying in my bed and am too lazy to throw these out... I mean seriously I am not that much of a slob!

I also would never go to my nephew soccer game today.... and as the annoying lady in front of me cheered for her son -- so obnoxiously - feel the need to yell every time she did -- but for my nephews team and not her sons team (sorry Dan).... that would mean I stooped to her level.... and I would never do that!

Last - I would never threaten the readers of my blog to leave comments when they read or I will have to just quit doing this blog all together.... because I like to know what they think... and that I do this for a reason - I wouldn't do that because that would sound really pathetic....

Ok - so I know I haven't had any posts in a while... no really good reasons for that - time just seems to get away.... With that said - you people reading out there better start letting me know that your with me - so I keep posting... no its not a threat.... I only hear from ya when I don't post....

With that - here is whats new....

House is great - although I don't have any pictures for you.... I haven't taken any in a while - sad but true.... I only go by there like 5 times a day... I will get some tomorrow and post them.... (if you comment -- hehe!) But serious progress has been made.... and I am loving all of it coming together... There is a man working on my house right now - who is doing all my trim.... so he has been there about a week and will be there all week again... He is an older man, like in his 70's... but he asked me who picked out my foyer floor.... its hard wood (a picture of it tomorrow.. maybe :)... anyway I told him I did and he said - well its ugly.... no lie - just like that - I thought it was funny - I mean its ok that he doesn't like my floor.. I love it... he did however approve of everything else! I did tell him that I was going to make cookies and would bring him some..... yes even after he told me my floor was ugly.... but when the cookies were done - at about 2 - he was already done working.... the next morning I made a dozen cookies and took them out there - and said - here are the cookies I promised, fresh baked this morning... his reply was - I thought I was going to get those yesterday!! I laughed and said well you needed to work past 2..... he really is a funny guy and means no harm... he just says what he thinks.... and I have to love that about him!

Kids are good, still loving school and doing well...Colby has been busy..... with cross country 2 mornings a week, soccer 2 days a week, baseball game at least once a week, and a soccer game too!! We went to Jefferson City, MO for a soccer tourney last weekend - lots of kids there and of course - Cage Fights.... yes - nice mix...
we did have a good time though - despite the dinner wait, and the fire alarms going off in the middle of the night....a few times....Camryn is doing well too.... getting pumped as she just picked out her Halloween costume.... we will share later... and she is still loving dance, and soccer -- and also had her first Brownie meeting on Friday....

Well.. I am going to leave you with a few pictures from the soccer tourney, we were rained out on day 2 by Hurricane Ike -- yep - thats right - Hurricane Ike here in MO, and for those of you who know my parent's have a condo in Galveston - the reports are it did great in the storm with only minor damage... Thank God... have a great night... and looking forward to hearing from all you lurkers and friends out there!

YEAH - we have a closing date.... now of course this could change by a day or two -- but we are set to close on the house on October 20th!! Ahhh.... what a nice thought.... just about 6 more weeks..... I can hardly wait.... and yet so many things I want to get done before we move in! I am pretty good at procrastinating unless I have a time line and then - I can focus better.... so this is so good!!

Colby and Dean went to the PGA golf tournament today here in St. Louis. This was Colby's first time and he loved it... as a matter of fact - since they have been home - all they have done is watch it on TV since of course it was recorded today as well..... I mean being there isn't enough.... but it was pretty funny because we did see Colby on TV at one part... he thought that was pretty cool.

Well -- the house is almost done on the outside..... it needs soffetts and facia on the front and paint on the garage doors (which is the same color as the siding) paint on the front door too (black) and the front is pretty much done.... I love the way it turned out - and I love the brick after all the stress! Dean was right... yes I said it honey......you were right!

A new picture of Colby with his golfer hat.... how cute is that? Does he look like little Payne Stuart or what? I wish I had a picture of my dad with his hat on like this - because they look so much a like its scray!!

Went by the house... and I sure do love the progress.... looks like the brick isn't going to be done until at least tomorrow... so we will see.... I am just so anxious to see the house with out all the scaffolding in front!! But it is looking so good and I am really liking my brick as it dries up! Also have a few pics of the inside as it is all drywalled..... enjoy!

Here is the latest picture of the house (you can click on it to make it larger).... YES I do think the brick mortar is getting lighter.... you can even see in this picture that the bottom right hand corner of the house has lighter brick mortar than it is at the top on the right - or on the garage.... so I am feeling much better about the color...sigh....

Looks like they will start doing some drywall this week -- just need to get some insulation in there and get going!!

We celebrated Monica's birthday last night! Today is the official date!! We are so lucky to have such great friends in our lives! After a little dinner.. we headed to the wine house in Eureka, to do a little birthday celebrating!!

Dark Brick!?!

Here is the latest picture - looks like a major construction site to me!! Told you they were busy today! The brick looks so dark... makes me a little nervous... but Dean keeps assuring me that it has to dry out - the marter (isn't that what its called? and is that spelled wrong?) is still really dark and it makes it all look really dark. No need to panic yet -- right?!

Well - I haven't been blogging much of late... the house has been moving along - but all things inside... that are no fun to take pictures of.... we have all plumbing in, electrical wiring is being finished up today, poured concrete in our basement and in our garage.... but yesterday.... (drum roll...) they started to BRICK!!! I am so excited.... So I can post a few pics of the brick from last night, a little of the siding, and our bath tub! I have already been up there today.... and it is pure chaos. The brickers are there, the electricians, the guys who do the siding, the concrete guys.... it seems like everyone is working on my house today!! I hope we have a chance to see it this evening. When I left one of the brickers told me he liked Bud Light, he was joking.. well kinda..... to which I asked what time he got off, and he said no we like it with breakfast... my reply... I don't like crooked brick!

Kids are still liking school, they are sure tired at night... but we never have a dull moment... Camryn started back up with dance, Colby has soccer practice twice a week, and tonight we have our first fall baseball game... looking forward to it!

Today was a great day!!! After dropping the kids off I headed out with the girls.... we first did some shopping.... then went and had lunch at Bar Louie, in the Central West End .... it was such a pretty day we ate outside and just had a nice relaxing lunch with ALL adult conversation! After lunch we headed to The Cupcakery and bought yummy treats!!! We did buy extras for the kids and husbands.... and let them share in our special treat! It was a great day! Thanks girls, we are for sure going to have to do that again!

School Days... School Days....

Well today was the first day of school for my kiddos! Colby is in 4th grade this year and Camryn is in 1st... they are both at a new school this year.... since we are moving. Here are a few pictures from this morning....

Dean said he wished he had my job.. and I said - well today I bet you do - but I earned this day! Lots of hard work went into this 1st day of both kids being in school all day!! About 6 years of staying home! I wouldn't change it -- just hard work!

I am happy to report.... it was a GREAT day.... I believe the exact words were... "We LOVED Geggie... even more than Eureka!" Now to all our Eureka friends out there... just know that this made me happy today ONLY because it is important that things go well for them at the new school.... we DO love Eureka and it was VERY hard to leave for us.... but glad they are going to be happy at Geggie all the same!! So with that at least I haven't "ruined their lives" by taking them away from Eureka..... at least not today!

Today marks 13 years of marriage for Dean and I.... I must say that I love this guy more now than I even knew was imaginable..... there couldn't possibly be anyone more perfect for me!

So through the years - with all the ups and downs - I am so grateful for you, for us.... and everything we have together!!! I look forward to another 40 years of wonderful memories! Thank you for everything you do for us and our family... you are amazing!! I love you now so much more than I even did then... Happy Anniversary Honey!

Well it is storming here in St. Louis BIG TIME!! But this did cool things off quite a bit.... yesterday and today it was super hot - heat index at like 115!! So as the rain is coming down... so is the temp - we are at about 78 right now!! Much better!!

It was a pretty exciting day for the kids.... they found out who their teachers are for the new school year. Since Colby and Camryn will be going to a new school...we didn't really know what teacher we would like... they just wanted to make sure they had a friend in their class.... and we are glad to say they do!! Yeah! Colby has a couple and right now we know of one for Camryn... couldn't ask for more!

So I think I am going to go chill out and watch a little TV.... but I must share a few new pictures.... even though its so hot.... they did work for a little while today and actually got a lot done! Here is what it looked like last Tuesday and here is what it looks like today!

We had a great time at the pool today with lots of friends!! The kids had a great time and I did too.... fun things going on to finish up summer!!! Only 9 days left of summer!!!

Went by to see the house tonight and have a few new pictures... it was WAY hot here today... heat index of 115 so we didn't spend much time at the house... but here ya go! Again - compare to last Monday pictures!

Well the weekend is about to end.... and we have the Sunday night blues! Dean is back to work tomorrow.... we did have a great weekend though!!! Friday night Dean got home from NY - he had been there all week.... and we had a BBQ with friends... it was a lot of fun! Hot and Humid but fun! Saturday we did a little house shopping.... bought a new couch YEAH - won't have it delivered until October when we get in the new house! The kids went to play at the Holtz's and Dean and I went to dinner... it was nice to just sit and talk since he was gone all last week. Today has been low key... but we did make it out to the house to get new pictures to share. They did a lot on Friday - but since they don't work on the weekends, I am just getting the pictures up. Anxious to see what this week brings, as so much changed since last week.... you can go back and look here this is what the house looked like last Sunday night!!! So it didn't look like much had changed - but they were working on the roof trellises... but on the ground - so I took a few pics of those.... also doing more "finishing" work on the base of the 2nd floor... did the roofing that goes over both bays... but I couldn't get a picture for you - as the ground in the back is way muddy, we have had some rain... one more day before they are off for the weekend... praying for BIG house changes tomorrow! :)

Ok so is she serious about these "pinch rolled jeans?" could it be coming back... OH NO!!!!!! Scared!!!

Also, since so many have mentioned this... the dog in our new picture is my parents pug... Lola... aka my sister.... she has a real rough life.... she also has a playmate Lucy - also my sister... they have a face only their mother and father could love!!!

Today Colby had Jr. golf.... and he won 1st place for the 6 holers. I was so proud of him. He was so excited he could hardly stand it... the only thing that could have made it better would be if Dean could have been there with us! His score was a 30 on 6 holes... which is his personal best. He played a lot of golf with his dad and Pop-Pops in SC - and I think that paid off! Colby comes from a long line of golf genes -so I know there are lots of people who are very proud of him today!!

The house did have some work done today - not a lot - but they did add a few more windows and also started the 2nd floor - maybe tomorrow 2nd floor walls?!? We will see - it is suppose to rain here so it might be a slow day.... I am not complaining, I am so grateful my house sold and that we can build the house!! Thank God!!

Tooth Fairy..... Scary!

So we lost another tooth last night... so the tooth fairy had to make an appearance. With that we put the tooth under her pillow and went to bed, this is after she had lost and found the tooth about 10 times. I was so tired that I knew I needed to hurry up and get that money under there or it might not happen. Camryn fell asleep pretty quickly... so I snuck in and was slowly reaching under her pillow -- with that she wakes up and says... "Mom what are you doing?" I quickly replied, "Just making sure that your tooth was under your pillow since you lost it." Camryn smiled and said... "Oh mom get out of here I thought you were the tooth fairy!" It was so funny and in the morning when Colby heard the story - he was all wide eyed and laughing at me!!

So this time the tooth fairy left $2.... which Dean felt was a lot, he said when he was little he only got a quarter, what do you guys think? What does the tooth fairy leave at your houses? This was her 8th tooth - when it is a first, the tooth fairy did give a little more!!

We headed to SC on Friday - and the 12 hour trip took us 14.... Dean was driving, while looking something up on his computer, and trying to make a phone call... safe I know... I was sleeping, when I woke up we had been on the road for 4 hours and we were back in MO - just in the southern part!!!! So we had to turn around and back track..... oh the joys of traveling!! So... we did do some videoing on the way here and thought we would share a little of our road trip adventure.....

Its been a few days since I updated... so I am a little behind with things... so this post is going to have quite a bit...

Camryn went to camp last week too... CHEER camp - which is right up her alley... on Friday they had the BIG performance and awards... and boy did they peg my daughter correctly... (she said its a good award?!?! any former cheerleaders out there?)

On Saturday we went to the NEW pool at the country club. It was just finished this week... and we headed out there with the Holtz's for a day of fun in the sun!! Aside from the cold lunch it was perfect...

While we were at the pool... Dean celebrated his Uncle David's 65 birthday by playing golf at Bellerive Country Club... even though this was David's birthday... it was a huge deal to Dean too, its a really nice course, not to mention they all even got party favors!! Each one of them picked out a shirt from the pro-shop... After spending the day at our pool, I came home, cleaned up and waited for my ride.... we then met the guys at the club and had a wonderful dinner... I had lobster and it was so yummy!!! After dinner our ride picked us up again and we headed back home!! We had so much fun and David was VERY surprised!!! Dean and his dad gave him 18 golf balls, numbered with 6's and 5's and made him hit a new ball on each hole! Well - after one picture at the club my camera battery died... uggg... Dean's aunt had her camera so I might post some pictures at a later date... anyway here ya go....

This was our ride... it picked up the guys in the morning... came back and got us and took us home... so fun!

Colby went to a Cardinals camp this week.... he had lots of fun... went with a few friends, they put on a great camp for these kids... he learned new skills and also got to meet several retired Cards Players. The kids were getting autographs left and right when we got back. Here is a picture of Colby with my brother from another mother... Kerry Robinson... for those of you that don't know my maiden name was Robinson - and I always say anyone with that last name is my relative....
He was Colby's favorite player that he met - might have something to do with the fact that he was pretty young... only 32. He was the only one Colby let sign his shirt and his glove. Here is another picture from camp - Colby with some of his friends.. (and of course... my brother)

We went by the house again tonight - and more progress... the forms are in and after a few more - they should be able to poor the foundation....

Better late than never... right?! We went to the movies yesterday and saw Kit Kittredge.... oh my - it was so stinkin cute!! What a great story!! The best part was at the end when I said to my sister, "Chris O'Donnell is so hot!" To which Camryn leans over and whispers in my ear, "But not as cute as my daddy!" I thought it was pretty precious! Colby didn't see this movie with us... no need to explain why not... so he went and saw the The Indiana Jones movie... he liked it a lot, although my nephew was texting through it and my brother in law was sleeping... Colby enjoyed it!

Also - went to see the house last night - here is a picture of the latest... these are our footings... next comes the forms for the basement walls... hoping I will get to post that later today!!

I am having so much fun getting ready for the new house.... it has gotten me geared up for a few new projects... I am planning on doing Camryn's room over...long story short - her comforter won't fit her bed anymore.... Not to mention I love to change things! So I have convinced her that pink and chocolate would be so cute.... hence the board I made here. So I decided to work on painting a few pieces of wood furniture white... and I then it went crazy... (thanks a lot Monica!) So here are my 2 new projects....

fyi... the chair only has primer so if you look too close... just know I still have to paint it white.... and the other chair didn't make the picture because it needs to be pained too...

I am so loving it.... the stripes were easy... just masking tape... and that wasn't something I was new too... but the circles - they took some planning... I checked the Internet for ideas, asked others, and I even went as far as to go to a paint store and ask for a trick... they had none! With that I came up with my own... I used contact paper... cute it in circles.. with my scrap booking circle cutters and then I could stick that right on the table and paint... and remove quickly! I still need to do a little touch up... but I had fun with it and Camryn loves it... she even colored me a picture to say "thanks"! Ahhhh!! What do you think? And don't worry - thats not the last project I have planned for her room... so stay tuned for more to come in future posts...

The weekend was great.... on the 4th we went to the annual BBQ at the Peter's house.. it was fun as always... Jen is quite the hostess... I didn't take any pictures... my battery in my camera was dead... I hate that... but Jen did and I will post some later... Saturday we spent the day shopping for the house.. fun fun stuff... and that night we just wanted a movie...Sunday Dean and Colby played golf... Camryn and I worked on her projects... and then we went to a BBQ at our new neighborhood and met lots of new neighbors... it was fun - hot but fun... there are so many little kids... I thought there were lots in our last subdivision....

anyway - back to Monday... we have a busy week and weekend - but more fun... so it will give me something to blog about!!! and of course I hope there are more house picture updates this week...

So I had to share this Camryn story... Everyone knows Camryn is going to marry Jack.... after college.... at least thats the story that they tell.... here is a picture of Camryn and Jack...

so the other day Camryn tells me she is going to read me something - but not to tell ANYONE! Now with that - I am putting it on the blog! Seriously though - you can't say anything to her about this post or story.... but it was just so funny I had to share!! She begins reading.... " I love Jack and Drew!" So she added Drew to her I love list!! I asked her if she really did like Drew too... she said I don't want to talk about it... and then I said, well I really need to know as he is going to be our next door neighbor... she said yeah I know and one day I am going to go over to his house and when he answers the door I am going to start kissing him!!! She said not now because he hates her - but later when he likes her she will do that..... Needless to say I was cracking up with this confession... but also thinking that we might be in a little trouble!!! I will clarify - Drew doesn't hate Camryn -- but Drew doesn't want anything to do with the girlfriend thing yet... won't he be shocked when he answers his door!!! :)

With that not sure I will ever be ready for her kissing any boys!

So yesterday we went to see the house. Dean, Camryn and I got in the car and headed to Marisol... Camryn said what are we doing - I said going to see the house - Dean pipes in with - you mean our hole where we will have a house. Ha Ha Ha funny guy. So we ran by the Kunkel's to pick up Colby and then Colby said - where are we going... I said Marisol to see the house and Colby says - you mean our hole.... How can there be 2 of them - Dean thought it was soooo funny and I thought oh God help me! DRY humor here! Here is a picture of our house... I mean the hole!

Now I know that isn't that exciting... but it sure is for us!!!!!! It's progress! And just think you will see the entire house being built picture by picture....

An update on the week... Dean was in NY again... left Monday after we signed papers, I went shopping and even bought a few things for the house, I am redoing Camryn's room - and I even worked on a project this week.... here is the final product... I made it... can we say she's crafty?! Camryn picked out the fabric - which I love but was surprised she liked it too... it was her favorite of all the choices I gave her... yes I did limit it to about 10 fabrics....

... Tuesday we swimming at the Legends Pool with friends.... Wednesday we went swimming again at Union's pool with some other friends... Thursday I had to work from 12-5 -- It was a pretty yucky day weather wise... The kids both went over to friends house.. so that was nice.... and last night we went out to dinner with a group of people... funny story - we went to El Nopal... we got out of the car... and Dean had a beer in his hand (I drove, not Dean).... this lady asked us if we were going to eat there and we said yes why... she said well I just saw that beer and wanted to let you know they don't have any drinks tonight!!! They "let their liqueur license expire!" (we think there is more to that story though!) When the group arrived we made a decision - that a new location was in need! Who wants Mexican Food without a margarita - so we had to change locations.... and off to El Maquey we went!

Happy 4th of July - I hope everyone enjoys their day... we are headed to The Peter's house for their annual 4th of July Party... so fun... I will post pics tomorrow...

Well.... officially today - our house is sold!!! I can't believe it is REALLY happening - I have so wanted this and it is finally coming to pass.... we signed everything yesterday and the buyer signed it all today!! With that - they are suppose to dig the hole for our new house tomorrow... YEAH!!! Thank you God! So... I will show you a picture of what the lot looks like... although this picture was taken back in late April.... it still looks like this... but now I can update you with pics as progress is made!

OUR HOUSE SOLD TODAY!!!! Well.... we got a contract, we are all signed off.... we are waiting for closing .... which will be sometime next week!! It has been a whirlwind of a day... but I truly believe God had his hand in this one.... with that I will keep praying and ask you to do so also, that this all goes through nice and easy!!! YEAH!!

We did have so much fun..... the kids had fun staying with my sister and her family... and they survived my kids - so thats good!! Back to normal today.... took the kids to Six Flags, where my son was "checking out 4 hotties" and my daughter wanted to know if her goggles made her "look sassy!" I might be in trouble!! Went out to dinner with some girlfriends... another much needed outing and some good old fashioned girl talk!!! Off to watch Colby play jr. golf tomorrow.... Nothing much to update you on..we did have a BIG baseball game on Wednesday night - it was against Colby's good friend Michael's team - this was the 4th time we played them this year - we had won 2 times - they won once.... but they did beat us again on Wednesday!! It was a close game.... but a bummer to lose!!! Colby had a hard time at first - but Michael will be playing Fall Ball on our team and I know that makes Colby super happy!

Also thought I would post this picture of Camryn and Faith - apparently there has been some confusion that a previous post was Faith - but that was her other friend Paige.... so this will help clear that up.... This picture of Faith and Camryn is my all time favorite!!!

The house is back on the market... back on realtor.com and the sign is back in the yard.... I am not sure if this is an uphill or downhill part of this roller coaster!!! Almost Wednesday?!?

How did that happen? This week is going by so fast..... Which is good since we have a fun weekend ahead of us!!

A run down of whats going on here...

Went to a wedding Friday - Dean's cousin, Nic and Rachel were married at Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis - it was very pretty, the kids both stayed over at friends houses... and so that made for a nice evening for Dean and I since he just returned from NY. I have been working on their wedding gift this week and it is almost done... won't share what it is in the off chance that they take a look at this - but I can't wait to give it to them... I will share later...Here is a picture of the bride and groom.... Congratulations Nic and Rachel - we wish nothing but the best for you both!!

Saturday I went to the Dr. - sinus infection... yuck... and I lost my voice... and boy thats not good for me... a day without talking... I do think it is funny how when you whisper people whisper back - just human nature... Saturday Colby had another baseball game.. and it was a winner 22-3... Sunday - Dean played golf.... duh it was a weekend and Father's Day ... no getting around that. We went over to my sister and BBQed for dinner... so wonderful to have them here and be able to do things like that together.

This week we don't have any camps - and it actually is pretty nice.... although we are still busy...Monday I got my hair cut... ALOT..shortest I think it has ever been... If I get brave maybe I will post a picture soon. The boys had another baseball game, another win 11 to 1... Colby had Jr. Golf today.. shot a 30 on 6 holes, improved his score from last week by 3 strokes, he had to call his Nana and tell her - because she keeps telling him that he can beat her... this afternoon we went to the pool with friends, there was a little boy there today who fell and couldn't move his legs, but could wiggle his toes... left on a stretcher via ambulance... it was a little scary - said a few prayers for him today... we have another baseball game tomorrow... and I really hope we bring home another winner!

House status... to make a SUPER LONG UGLY STORY short... we are going to stay put in the Villa for now... the house will go back on the market tomorrow... so if you know anyone who wants it, let me know.... and we will give this a little more time... just praying and praying that this house sells quickly!!!!! This past week has been really hard - but we have had so many friends offer support in one form or another that we feel very lucky to have all of you in our lives.... it makes it a little easier knowing we have the important things!! (just like Dean said!) With that the best thing anyone can do for us now is Pray!!

Camryn had her 4th day of GS camp today - she is still really liking it. Friday is suppose to be her last day, but the weather isn't suppose to cooperate tomorrow... so it may get cancelled. Everyday they have to wear their tie-dye shirts and their bandannas... and bring a BIG jug of water!

Colby and his friends had their 2nd day of camp.. and today I took a few pictures.... thought I would post one to share (you can click on the picture to make it larger). Friday is suppose to be his last day too - but again - the weather will determine that. Today we went out to lunch after camp and then to the pool.

Dean will be home tonight - he has been in NY all week... after all that is going on with the house... I can't wait to get home so we can move on with our next step... whatever that may be....

Today Colby started golf camp with 14 of his friends... it was their very own camp! It sounds like they had a lot of fun... for which I am glad. It was also nice to hang out with some girls.... and get my mind off everything else.

After camp (which I will be taking pics of tomorrow because they were all too cute!) Colby and I had a little lunch at The St. Louis Bread Co. It was so nice to just sit and talk with him alone... that doesn't happen much.

With that he says,

Mom, if you could go any where in the world on a trip where would you want to go?

I replied,

I think it would have to be Hawaii or maybe even Australia

As Colby smiled and shook his head I asked

Why.... where would you want to go?

He then says,

I don't know I just wanted to know where I was going to take you when I am a pilot.

I thought it might be the sweetest thing that he was thinking about where to take his mom... I hope that sweet gene stays around for a while!! Now for those who really know me, I guess you are laughing about the whole idea of my son wanting to be a pilot... well How in the world would I ever be able to deny him a flight.... I guess I am really going to have to get over that fear!

What a Day... or Month or 2....

Well - first I should start out that this might be a pretty negative post.... I am having a pity party for myself. Just to fill you in with the short...short..short version.... the buyer of our house... didn't get her loan. Thats what it all comes down too - although.... there is so much that goes along with it... lies, misrepresentation, and oh so much more. With that I am not sure where we go next. Well... I do know that we are going to be moving back into our house.. yes moving twice - but NOT into a new home... that stinks! We are pursing some legal action - as they have completely breached their contract.... but it still hurts... BAD! I will keep you updated if things change... on a brighter note - I do have the best husband in the world... as I got this e-mail from him first thing this morning...(Before the bad news later today)

Good morning, was thinking about you. If I hear anything today, I'll let you know.
If this doesn't work out, something else will. Everything happens for a reason.
Try to remember...no matter what happens with the house, we still have the important things.

Camryn is going to camp this week with Girl Scouts... she is there everyday from 8-3 -- its a nice break for me and she is having so much fun with it! I have a few pics of it that I will post later this week...

Colby played Jr Golf today... he is a 6 holer now.... and he shot 33 on six holes today... pretty good and this was his first day out there. He had fun and it was really fun watching - he is getting so grown up. He also had a baseball game tonight and they won 6-1 which is also exciting! He had a much better game than last time and the whole team looked awesome!

Well - I think that is it for now.... hope everyone else had a much better day - and I just pray tomorrow is better!!!

Summer Fun...

Well its Sunday and that means the weekend is almost over... we had a busy week! Colby took swim lessons at the HS and Camryn did a Golden Line (drill team) camp. She had lots of fun - as this is right up her alley, Colby on the other hand thought swim lessons were "boring"! Camryn had several friends in her class and also her cousin Jensen. The last day they did a performance for us and I will share a picture from that - too cute!

Last night Colby went to the Cardinals game with his friends.... and he got 2nd place in a dance contest!!!! I couldn't believe that he even did it - but its true - he had to dance with 4 others in front of about 70 people!! Oh how I wish I could have seen that... he said he did the robot, a little Staying Alive, and he shook his bootie to Bootylicious by Destiny's Child. The prize.... a new Cardinals hat!!

Still nothing new on the house front... I am trying to have patience - but they are running thin!!!

A few things...

First - lets start with the movie last night..... It was so good.... everything I could have wanted from the movie. You had to wonder if it could possibly be as good as the series... but the answer is Yes! Everyone was so true to their character... I just loved it. Not to mention it was just a great girls night out... they served Cosmo's at the movies in fun glasses that lit up... how fun is that!? And I am sure it led to lots of coloring...hopefully outside of the lines! :)

We also had another baseball game tonight. Colby has been playing with most of these boys for years. Dean is coaching the team again this year. Tonight wasn't one of Colby's best games... but I just love to watch him no matter what, although watching him pitch is a little nail biting! The final score to the game was 16 to 15... Way to go Crushers! Here are a couple pictures from the game and also a picture of Ryan from the game, (my Godson) because he is just so stinking cute!

Well....we still didn't get to close yesterday and with that we have 3 residences... The buyer is still waiting on some paper work and this time it wasn't cancelled until 25 minutes before our closing time.... we do have some penalties lined up and they were accepted so we are feeling that they do still want the house - the papers just need to be signed off on.... ugg!! Needless to say being at our place yesterday wasn't much fun!

With that - tonight I am going out with the girls!! I can't wait... Sex and the City Movie - here we come!! I can't wait to see it! I am a little scared being on line today for I might learn something about the movie that will spoil it! Out for a few drinks after that and boy am I looking forward to it! Dean went to play golf today... hoping that will help his stress load... and he will be playing tomorrow too!

The kids are doing well with the move - I think with it being summer we are going to be ok - so many things are going on - they are always out and about! Camryn did take a "swim" in the tub here at the villa today... it was pretty funny - she thought it was the greatest thing ever!

I'm Back.....

Just wanted to take a moment and let you know that I haven't forgotten about my new blog!! I actually really like doing it! With that said - let me give you a run down on what has been going on here.....last Friday we spent the day moving into our temporary place of residence (per Peggy! :)) Anyway - our phone, Internet and Dish were all turned off at the house that day. No closing on the house - as expected.. long story... we spent Friday night out with friends for an end of the year party... more moving on Saturday.... lunch with my sister and kids...Sunday we had more moving, BBQ ed with more friends and Monday we will say was the
FINAL moving day and Dean and Colby had a chance to play a little golf!! We are officially in the Villa (sorry Peggy!) After a few issues we finally got our phone and Internet up and running,which is why I haven't blogged, on Tuesday. Summer started off on Tuesday with football camp and bike rides, and we have even already had a birthday party, lunch with friends, days at friends houses.... and an afternoon at Six Flags with tons of friends.... needless to say we have been busy!! Should have more to update soon and will have pictures too.... and on a final note.... closing on house is now set for tomorrow.... PLEASE pray that goes well.... really just goes at all!

The Last Day of School 2008
Well today was the last day of school for my kids this year.... and it really brought about a lot of lasts here at our house!

It was the last time....

I woke my kids up in this house for school....
I made breakfast for the kids at this house for school...
I watched them get on the bus on our driveway (unless I am ooh so lucky again!)
They played at the bus stop with all their friends and neighbors....
The last day they were students at Eureka Elementary...
The last day Colby was in 3rd grade...
The last day Camryn was in Kindergarten.....
The last day I had to myself....
The last day Miss Kitty was their bus driver... thats a BIG woohoo to them!
The last day I will get to say I have a Kindergartner and a 3rd grader....

I guess this move is getting me a little sentimental! Change is good - its a new chapter in the big book of life.... Looking forward to a nice summer and having a little break from the daily grind of school...

I had to share a funny story with you all that I heard when I was at Target today! I happened to over hear these 2 ladies talking about an upcoming trip to Disney... this is how it went....

Lady 1 " Yes - we are headed to Disney in a few weeks...."

Lady 2 " Oh that is wonderful..... did you guys get the FREE meal plan?"

Lady 1 " No... I don't think we did!!"

I refrained from making comment - but FREE meal plan -- no such thing!! We just went to Disney in February and had an awesome time.... and although while you are there..... it does "seem" that your meals are free.... I can assure you - that you DID in deed pay for them!! I did have to stop myself from chuckling too loud!! On a more serious note - the not so FREE meal plan is a great deal and the trip to Disney over all - worth EVERY dime.....

Living in a box...

This is a glimpse as to what things look like at our house right now! We are moving from our very first home, where we have been for 11 years! Dean and I had this house built in 1997 and have made some great memories here.... bringing home both of our children, making great friends and neighbors, and our very first home together. We close next week and have plans to live in a villa temporarily, just a few minutes away. Did I mention how hot my new landlord is?? He puts Mr. Roper to shame! Our new house is being built and won't be done until at least mid October..... which really means at least December! We are all excited.... well not the kids so much - as they will so miss their friends in our neighborhood... but we will be back to visit, besides this is like a new adventure!! "Make new friends, but keep the old".... isn't that how the song goes..... or my current theme song for us is.... "Living in a box...living, living in a cardboard box!" So this is moving week...

Is He Real?

Who would have known that I would have something new to blog about already!!! My son, Colby, came into the living room after his shower tonight and said he had a question, he didn't want me to be mad, and he didn't want to ask with his sister around... and then he asked the big question.... "Is Santa real?" First of all, I was totally taken off guard - it is May and although the weather in St. Louis just stopped feeling like winter..... it is almost summer!! I told him over and over that if you don't believe he won't come.... but that wasn't what he needed! He became pretty frustrated with me and said he really wanted the truth, don't lie and just please tell me.... all these years I said I would NEVER say those words... but I had too.... "No, Santa isn't real...." it about broke my heart!!! I did tell him that I was very glad he didn't say anything in front of Camryn and that he was NEVER to tell anyone! He seems to be relieved..... but I am a little sad... I guess I should be happy he made it this long!! After he thought for a moment, he then said... "So I guess the Easter Bunny isn't real either....."
